Rep. Elijah E. Cummings Seeks Bank Subpoenas on Fraudclosure Crisis

Cummings seeks bank subpoenas on foreclosure crisis

Baltimore Rep. Elijah E. Cummings on Wednesday requested that the House Oversight Committee issue subpoenas to six banks he said have refused to voluntarily provide documents detailing their role in the mortgage foreclosure meltdown.

Cummings, the top-ranking Democrat on the committee who has made the foreclosure issue a top priority, said the documents are needed to help the committee determine how the foreclosure crisis unfolded. He said it is his first request for subpoenas since starting in the position in January.

“The foreclosure crisis has had devastating consequences for communities across the country and continues to threaten our nation’s economic recovery,” Cummings said in a statement Wednesday. “The banks have admitted wrongdoing, and yet they are now refusing to provide Congress with documents that are critical to our investigation.”

  2. If you have nothing to hide you do not refuse to allow an investigation. These banks are so guilty of outrageous crimes I don’t blame them for hiding. If they dig they will find!

If the banks won’t provide them, I think the good citizen’s ( fraudclosure warriors) in Fl can accommodate
the congressman . The banks have not ….I wonder why ? Mr McHenry should see some of them as well,
Then he should apoiogize to Ms Warren ., and the American citizens , then charged with treason ! .

She needs to subpoena those who were involved in Obama’s Foreclosure Task Force …. They Freaking KNOW. There were two secret meetings, one in Chicago and one in Phoenix AZ. The doors were closed and the press was not alowed in. They knew what went wrong 2 years ago.

Of course!!!! They are all complicate in one way or another. The politicians are as dirty as the banksters because they are now aiding and abetting in the massive cover up and so is the mainstream press. Has anyone in the mainstream media ever talked about what Foreclosuregate is really about? I mean what happened way before the robosigning and the fraudclosures? Dylan Ratigan and Elliot Spitzer did talk about MERS, but I am talking about the fraud throughout the loans, the lack of securtization and lack of due dilligence that caused this whole entire fraudclosure mess. Jesse Ventura did something about the liars loans and the Ponzi Scheme. I have heard 2 on the radio tell the truth. One was Michael Medved’s guest Robert Shear who wrote the book, the Great Stick Up of America and Norman Goldman talked about “some” of the banks not even having the notes.. Capitalism a Love Story by Michael Moore had Congresswoman, Marcy Kaptor describing how they do not have the notes up on Wall Street. Chris Whalen spoke the TRUTH to Bloomberg in his video entitled Foreclosuregate is a Cancer. He described exactly what they did and clearly explained how they never assigned the notes to the trusts and the devastating effects this would have on the economy. He nailed it. He compared this financial crisis to the first Great Depression and Chris Whalen went as far as to say, Obama is walking in Herbert Hoover’s shoes in his handling of this financial crisis. It is worth watching. You can google it. There is so much being strategically covered up here by the mainstream press, it boggles the mind.
