Florida Attorney General bashes states that rejected nationwide foreclosure settlement

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi stood by the 50-state attorneys general settlement with the nation’s biggest banks on Thursday as California and Delaware formally rejected the proposal she helped negotiate.

Bondi said Floridians can’t wait for foreclosure relief and that the draft proposal sent to states on Monday addresses California’s concerns.

“The settlement under discussion contains all the elements California purports to be looking for; transparency, substantial relief for distressed homeowners, and strict enforcement,” Bondi said Thursday. “Florida’s homeowners need relief now, and protracted and uncertain litigation would be contrary to their best interests.”

Bondi is on a core team working with the nation’s five biggest banks to settle an investigation into mortgage servicing and foreclosure wrongdoing.

Rest here…

Oh, and WHY are they still calling it a ” 50-state attorneys general settlement?”

How about giving folks an update and issuing an “Action Alert” for “consumer advocates” (are there any left in Florida?) to file a supporting brief for petitioner in Roman Pino v Bank of NY Mellon? Like most other times for Florida homeowners, when we snooze, we lose. What is being decided is a VERY important issue.

Good girl Pam – you are an obedient little poodle for your banker masters. Sure they will throw you a treat soon for your submissive, unwavering allegiance to them – irregardless of the continued suffering of millions.

Bondi answers to Naples. Right now Romney is lying through his teeth about the foreclosed riff-raff. He makes money when you hicks are put out. Most politicians are hopeless or bought. The entire system of Guv’mint needs an overhaul where we actually return to Democratic rule.

I have a $300 DOLLAR ELECTRIC BILL IN WINTER..THAT SHOULD BE around $120.00…I have called Com Ed and complained endlessly..Every excuse in the book like the meter reader could not get in the yard…that wont stop them though if they come to shut you off.. The conversation always ends the same…would you like to get on a payment plan…I tell them they are commies and no I don’t want to get on a payment plan. Same shit with the water bill and the gas bill..$300.00 dollars all year round..and at the end of the season the greedy bastards will send you a $600.00 dollar catch up bill and say uh, there were a few months that you were on an estimated bill and you underpaid..that is how they force you to pay on time all summer/winter long…if you don’t have the money they put you on a commie payment plan and if you don’t pay on time..you owe the whole bill immediately or shut you off..and BTW..GOVERNOR QUINN GRANTED COM ED A RATE HIKE RECENTLY!! WHOSE UTILITY BILLS ARE WE PAYING?? SEARS..THE CME GROUP..WTF DO THEY THINK WE ARE ALL STUPID?..AND THE STATE JUST RAISED THE TOLLWAY FEE FROM .80¢ to $1.50..I can see a mass exodus of the people coming and then the politicians and the corporations can just eat it..IT COSTS WAY TOO MUCH TO LIVE IN THIS FREEZER…!
