Runner, Not Wall Street Exec, Prosecuted for Mortgage Fraud

Charlie Engle served more than a year in prison after being convicted of lying on mortgage loan applications, a common practice during the housing boom that led to the subprime mortgage crisis. Engle, who never worked on Wall Street, is one of the few people to actually serve prison time for behavior that contributed to America’s economic collapse.  Harry Smith’s full report airs Thursday, Nov. 15 at 10pm/9c on NBC’s Rock Center with Brian Williams.
