Equifax Sells Private Information To Debt Collectors In ‘Biggest Privacy Breach In Our Time’: Report
Financial information is considered by most to be very private, but that isn’t stopping one credit reporting agency from sharing it without your knowledge, according to a report by NBC News.
Equifax, one of the nation’s largest credit reporting agencies with one of the most expansive private databases of information, has accumulated the salary and employment records of more than one-third of U.S. adults, according to NBC. In turn, the agency has sold some of this information to debt collectors and other financial service companies. That data can make debt collectors’ jobs easier by giving them access to information individuals thought only their employers knew.
“It’s the biggest privacy breach in our time,” Robert Mather of Pre-Employ.com, an employment background company, told NBC.

So true. Like playing poker in your home. BEWARE! You can be arrested for illegal gambling if you and your friends decide to have a fair game of poker! Your home is no longer a ‘safe haven’! And I am NOT kidding about this. http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/14508-south-carolina-supreme-court-says-home-poker-games-illegal. And what are these reporting companies doing with your private information? Simply put, they are playing a game of Poker as well to see who will play the best hand and ‘win’ your valuable information!
Timothy Klein is an Equifax spokesman and obviously spews bullcrap from his mouth as he’s directed because if he actually knew the laws in the FCRA and FDCPA, and had any honor, he wouldn’t be putting lies out there. Richard Klein is the CEO, you’d think he’d know the law. They started saying they give info to companies who have permissible purpose and says you gave them that permissible purpose when you signed the application for credit. BIG FAT LIE! You authorized the original creditor. You did NOT authorize a 3rd party debt collector. There is a HUGE difference. SHAME on Richard Klein and SHAME on Equifax. I hope they get barraged with lawsuits.
When you’re a debtor your rights are under siege, that’s the reality of the situation. Bankster firms break all kinds of FDCPA in an out of control system that’s nearly legalized larceny.
Just think – all that information from the so-called fair Credit Reporting Agenices had available – yet Banksters hammered people with liars loan debt bombs, fraud and economic warfare. Don’t play their game, to hell with their FICO scores, usury and predation. Your data is money, and they buy and sell your privacy. Combine this with an ever intrusive corporate controlled Government and privacy may eventually become illegal. They’ll say it’s for your safety!
