The promissory note was “endorsed” to Deutsche and I am being told that in the state of Louisiana, assignments are not required. I don’t think the people I’ve asked understand.

“But in most states trusts cannot hold bearer paper of any sort – period.”

That statement was in a paragraph relating to assignments. When I think of “bearer bonds,” or “bearer paper,” I think of promissory notes.

I’d like to know the basis for the statement as it relates to promissory notes. Is it true that trusts cannot hold bearer bonds/paper?
