My political consciousness was awakened during the Clinton impeachment proceedings. I have no particular love for Bill Clinton mind you, but I saw what I perceived an absolutely unwarranted hounding on a scale I had not previously imagined. It seemed completely beyond the pale.

Shortly thereafter a friend presented me with a copy of G. Edward Griffin’s book “The Creature Form Jekyl Island.” To say the least I was stunned. There were several nights I was unable to put the book down and literally read through the night, sometimes pacing my great room floor and cursing loudly!! Prior to that I had no idea how much of the “unknown unknown” I was involved in, and victim of (to borrow from Donald Rumsfeld, another of those I have no particular love for).

This occurred in the late 90’s and early “oughts” and I spent a considerable amount of time researching our monetary system, the history and role of central banks, the apparent complicity of our (US) elected government, World Bank and IMF involvement, the Tri-Lateral Commission, etc. The more I looked into these issues the less fantastical it began to appear to me. Having others with letters behind their names helped me in believing I wasn’t simply chasing conspiratorial mirrors in the haze.

Then, several tragedies befell me in fairly rapid succession – my mother died (a blow I am still unable to put into words), my long term partner and I split (an ugly two year process trying to untangle myself from her financially, and she acted very poorly), and finally a motorcycle accident which was the final straw that led to the foreclosure being filed against my property. In short I’ve necessarily been distracted from continuing my research into the “monetary issues” for the past several years.

But it was in fact that prior research, and my limited understandings, that caused me to believe there were any defenses or reasons to fight the foreclosure. I did, however, abandon any defenses or legal theories that revolved around a concept of “vapor money.” I am only aware of one case, the Credit River Decision out of MN in 1969 I believe, that has prevailed using a vapor money argument. In order to prevail in court one must put forth arguments that the court is willing to entertain. Vapor money is not counted among those as best I can tell.

In the 2.5 years I’ve been fighting my foreclosure millions of others have been ensnared in the same net of deception and fraud that I am in. Many of those do not have the benefit (if it can accurately be described as such) of any understanding whatsoever of our monetary system. They do not know of the worthless nature of our fiat currency, the ability of a very limited few private individuals to control, both by expansion and contraction, the amount available and its relative (alleged) value.

I spoke with a fairly recent foreclosure fighter and advocate in the past week. They are in a non-judicial state and their backs are pretty well against a wall. They are represented and have as good a chance as any of us in prevailing in our individual suits. They are fairly knowledgeable, at least in my opinion (for what my opinion is worth), but they have close to zero knowledge of our monetary system. I suggested several times that they find and read Griffin’s book. I found that to be a very layman friendly version as Griffin successfully reduced the issues involved to their core simplicity. I suggested that if they were feeling great anger at what is happening in “foreclosure land” an understanding of the nature of our worthless fiat currency will 1) help them further understand the depth of the fraud involved in their foreclosure, and 2) cause their anger (and hopefully motivation to fight) to increase exponentially.

In accordance with the above I also encourage all readers here to do the same. I do consider it be of foundational importance to understanding the issues in the overall and how each of us in our micro circumstances have been maneuvered into this position.

And while I have your attention (if I haven’t already lost you) I also suggest a read of the following site which has a speech of Ed Vieirra in front of the New York Rotary Club. Vieirra is an attorney and constitutional scholar. He has taken 4 cases before the US Supreme Court and has prevailed in three of those cases. Again Vieirra has reduced his presentation to very simple core terms. I stress the simplicity not because I believe any of you reading this are beyond being able to comprehend anything beyond that but rather because these issues are often made overly complex in what appears to be an intentional effort to confuse and befuddle. Greenspan was a Master at answering relatively simple questions in such obscure and complex ways that literally NO ONE could tell what he was saying, or even if he had answered the question at all.
