I agree with you, except for 2. Why should an investor be made whole? That is like saying anyone who loses money at a casino should be made whole. Investors have interfered with many homeowners trying to get modifications. They are actors in this scandal as well as all the parties you mention in 3. I have absolutely no pity for investors. Bottom line….mortgages should not be commodities traded on the market. It is a contract between a borrower and lender…period!

I also do not understand your “3-z”. I receive a military pension due to disability. I get this because I fought to allow A-holes to make such stupid statements, and my opportunity to respond. That is a real idiotic and ignorant statement. If one of the people in category 3 put their life on the line for us, this should never be taken away. Let them face the rule of law for acts that they have done. Whether we like it or not, if they get Veteran’s benefits, they deserve to keep them.

I am one of the most active voices against these fraudsters. There is a line to be drawn at some point.

1) All houses missing their paperwork now belong to the families living in them, or the family last residing there.
1-a) New deeds created and recorded.
1-b) All payments made by home-buyers are paid back to said buyers. The banks’ titles were fraudulent, they were owed nothing. The money is not theirs.

2) Every investor made whole.
2-a) If a mortgage has been sold to three investors, than the seller pays every one of those three investors. You sold it, you buy it back!

3) Hard time.
3-a) Robo-signing means you do hard time.
3-b) Lying to borrowers means you do hard time.
3-c) Telling employees to lie means you do the biggest hard time.
3-d) Lawyers involved do hard time, and are disbarred for life.
3-e) Judges who ruled for fraudulent law suits do hard time, and are disbarred.
3-f.) Politicians who collaborated do hard time, are disbarred, and cannot hold any office.
3-g) Anyone else involved, i.e. real estate agents, appraisers, et cetera, do hard time, too.

3-z) No one from category three can receive any welfare, disability, or other such benefits.

The AG is being disingenuious about his “no one to prosecute” statement. Having worked in federal law enforcement, there is always someone to charge in these cases. You indict the “little guy”, and have them cop a plea in exchange for information to prosecute the “bigger fish”. This is a bogus excuse to not prosecute.

If they cannot handle these types of cases, they should be referred to DOJ (who should be doing this in the first place). The RICO laws allow you to indict organizations and groups. You do not have to charge individuals. That is how they prosecuted La Cosa Nostra and the Hells Angels.

Either the AGs are corrupt or incompetent. Whichever the case may be, if you can’t, or don’t want to do your jobs, resign. Let a professional handle these cases.
