MERS is not a financial entity, so how it is borrowing money from MERS? When did MERS get a bank charter? Or are they also a loan shark, or pawn shop?
The whole scenario is a honeypot for the guy who borrowed all that money, and he apparently never had the intention of paying any of it back. He moved in fast and was out of there. The robbers got robbed.
