As far as I remember, the interest rate has been historically low and continues to fall and we had millions of foreclosures. There are still millions who are willing and able to pay their mortgages. The media and the forecasters and all the others keep speaking about when the economy starts to rebound. Here are facts as we know them:

1. Prices of everything, meaning essentials, are on the raise.
2. Jobs are going away and those with jobs are taking pay cuts and loss of benefits to stay employed.
3. We know that sooner or later interest rates will, again, go up.

Won’t these factors alone bring wave after wave of new on-going mortgage defaults. Greenspan recently said that he thinks burning down the foreclosures will help the economy rebound. How can that be when there will continue to be wave after wave of new defaults? Will they equip each community with a “burn down” unit with match in hand ready to strike when the “burn” order is given? I know I’m may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but really, what are these people smoking? If they don’t get people more living wage jobs and come up with a real housing solution, someone will have to draw me a picture to show me how there can be a rebound.
