The numbers indicate that the respondents are too white, too young, too Independent and too well educated to be representative of America as a whole.

Neither the Vietnam nor Civil Rights protests began to enjoy success until they were able to broaden their appeal beyond their youth founding bases to more middle-aged, middle class Americans. That’s going to need to happen here, too. They’ve got a good start and they have a deep well of outrage running across classes, ages, education levels and political affiliation that they can tap into. I hope they’re devoting considerable time and thought to how they will extend their appeal and reach to groups who are currently under-represented in their mix.
