The City of Roswell, and in particular, their police department have long been considered out of control. The following link sheds some light on their dubious DUI enforcement:

Anyone who has lived in Metro Atlanta long enough knows the entire city is one big speed trap. On any given day the Roswell police can be found en masse “patrolling” the major thoroughfares during rush hour. They routinely pull people over in the turn lanes, making driving through Roswell a hellish commute.

Roswell has a huge gang problem, a huge problem with illegal aliens (and the resulting crime) yet they prefer to bust people over chickens, exceeding the speed limit and not using turn signals. Instead of “Protect and Serve” their motto should be “Harass and Fine.”

The city stole this man’s life. I would encourage you to listen to the radio interview (link provided in story). Although they made him out to be a kook, Mr. Wordes comes across as articulate, knowledgeable of the law and passionate. Where is the outrage? This should be a national story yet it quickly disappeared from even the local coverage.

As a nation, do we just not care any longer? Do we really have the attitude “as long as it doesn’t happen to me I don’t care” (?). Sadly, I think so.

If you want something done right, you will have to do it yourself. If there millions of
taxpayers with this attitude, the wrong side could be defeated. Otherwise we’ll end up
talking about it and doing nothing to stop the law breakers.

City Officials should be charged with first degree murder. Such an abuse of power-it is frightening what is happening. Property rights were a big part of the foundation of our country. The federal government also seems complicit in bailing out banks that continue to foreclose-thinly veiled economic terrorism against citizens. Constitution, Bill of Rights, illegal search and seizure leading to total loss of life, money and property is ridiculous. All over chickens-but really arrogant abuse of power. This is an amazing story that I hope gets national attention and review.

All you proponents of Agenda 21….this is what you have signed up for…city officials in Roswell, Georgia need to be investigated and then prosecuted for gross violation of Mr. Wordes’ civil rights.

Sounds like Roswell, Ga and Redford, MI are both places NOT to live. I left Redford to seek employment so I could keep my house and immediately was given a citation by the Twp of Redford saying I “vacated” my property even though I had a relative living there, everything was still in my name and I was paying all the bills including taxes on time. They took it upon themselves to look in my windows or drive by and determined my house was unoccupied (even though the relatives car was in the driveway), vacant and occupied without my registering as a landlord. How can all three of these apply at the same time? They slapped vacant and unoccupied stickers all over the house. In 10 years of owning this house, have never been late or missed a house payment, tax payment or insurance payment. This trouble started in June of 2005 and slowed down when I came back the end of 2011 to fight them face to face for my rights. I have been threatened with jail, a permanent criminal record, warrants for my arrest and mounting citations in the hundreds and hundreds of dollars just because I moved for employment to keep my house in the depressed Detroit area. They bully people out of their homes creating a foreclosure or bankruptcy and then scoop the homes up for pennies on the dollar, “rehab” them to resell to “deserving” low income families. When they get their teeth in someone, they don’t let go. Mine isn’t the only story of their tactics. They are creating a ghetto at the expense of good honest residents. I am walking away from this mess as soon as I can get enough money together for a tank of gas and they can have my house. I will gladly take the loss, even though I am a senior citizen and will have to start over. Moving out of the country is sounding better and better. This country is going down the tubes so fast. It’s too late for us to get it back. The bad guys are in total control. We are all doomed. Thank goodness I’m old. I pity the younger generations future.
