The current penalty for violation of Penal Code 115.5, false filing, is $75,000 per document. Under this ‘protective’ law, it becomes 1/10th of that, if you can prove multiple occurrances, unless you spend big money to prove intent, which is nearly an insurmountable hurdle to a homeowner with such low resources they have defaulted.

The legislators in Sacramento are laughing at you, people of California. Aren’t you tired of being the butt of their jokes yet?
