Had a similar thing happen here in Maryland 2 years ago. (No vehicle involved,) A ‘Property Preservation’ Crew actually broke into the home we had moved out of, however, kept the 2 acre yard mowed,beds mulched, had tons of heavy equipment and building materials in the shop. They also ignored the NO TRESSPASSING sign which also had 2 phone numbers on it to reach me.
They stole building supplies, forklift battery chargers, untold hand tools, and other equipment and miscellaneous items.
This was at the hands of Aurora – (After Homecommings both modified my loan, AND accepted funds in good faith to seal the deal.)
In the end they wrote me a check in restitution, and supposedly ‘waived’ my responsibility for the loan in its entirety. (?) (We were burried in the home to the tune of about $300k – Owed $650 on a house worth $350 at the time.)

THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON, but most folks don’t do anything about it. CALL THE POLICE – DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING LIKE IT!

*since then, I know of 3 people a similar event has happened to here in Maryland, 1 of the 3 followed up on it, and recieved restitution.

Fight the good fight! Challenge EVERYTHING, they lie!

Of course, theives hire thieves! And I hope this man uses the same amount of energy he used to get his car back to go after the bigger thief on the foreclosure!
