…totally agree! I think it is part of the problem to only get justice if you can afford it. A criminal gets a lawyer for free, but if you have discovered fraud as an ordinary citizen you are just plain out of luck. Try legal aid offices around the country – they don’t have any funds. Try to get legal aid from the 25 billion national mortgage settlement – no way. I qualified for indigent status with my court but got denied it without reason. I had to take my kids piggy bank money to sue my bank (with their permission) pro se.

I’d like to know if any of the fines & fees HSBC is to pay will go into the General Fund, will just go back to the depts that pursued this bank, or if anything will go towards consumers’ fights with the crooked banks. As taxpayers, we’re picking up the bill for the tracking & prosecuting of these guys; Fees & Fines should go to assist taxpayers’ fights for justice.
