Our constitution says “Congress shall have power to coin money and regulate the value thereof” It might bring forth a different set of problems but at least then we can change by putting out the encumbants. I think it is worth a try. It can’t be any worse than what we have now.
Taxpayer money should not be spent to help the banks pursue desperate people who’ve lost their homes., Some have lost them to banks running Ponzi schemes more efficiently than Bernie Madoff ran his.. Bank officials have been getting 30 year prison terms in Broward and Palm Beach counties. We’lll soon know where Treasury stands on this one, with the people or the banks.
DITTO… Perhaps the POTUS should read Stern’s SEC filing where he basically states he is a moron! And is literally “banking” on his failed policies…
Thank You Mr. President for allowing Fannie & Freddie to use the American people’s hard earned money to perpetuate fraud on the court’s and allowing people like Shapiro & Stern to steal people’s homes…
Mr. Conyers your letter only scratches the surface!
Shut down MER’s and sue their “founder’s” for the millions if not billions of dollars they have deprived state and local governments.
Stop using taxpayer funds to enrich the Foreclosure Mill’s across this nation!
President Obama: I was an early supporter, not only with money but also by arguing with the South Florida Jewish community — who I knew you’d likely need the support of in the general election — tirelessly to vote for you. By early I mean early; long before the primary drama — back when you were one of a batch of people on stage debating and people said that you had no chance.
I gave you a chance. Me, and countless people like me.
We gave you a chance because you promised Change & Hope.
Remember those words? They were plastered on a lectern at virtually every speech; you used them repeatedly.
President Obama, you’ve failed us miserably. You lied. We don’t care that much about health reform, mainly because everybody is so poor they just accrue giant medical bills then ignore them. Banking “reform” turned out to include provisions like an exemption of FOIA requests by the SEC. You’ve let the two wars rage along, with no end in site; forgotten except for those with families in the military.
But, worse, you’ve let the war on the middle class rage unabated, not only refusing to stop it but placing “people” like Tim Geither — a general on the other side — in charge, and allowing him to run unchecked.
You’ve failed us President Obama; the community organizers you were once a member of. You’ve failed the communities you used to fight for that we still fight for. You’ve failed your principles, you’ve sacrificed your honest and integrity. You’ve failed yourself and you’ve failed your children.
Show up unannounced in foreclosure court. Don’t worry — even with the President sitting there (you could also show up alone dressed as a defendant; courthouses are plenty secure) they’ll still rocket docket unsuspecting, unrepresented defendants out of their homes in 10-second “hearings” — and see what you’ve done and what you’re doing. Hang your head in shame.
