I have had this thought for a LONG time now and was actually kicked off a blog site once for saying this, and it hit me @ 1:25 of Vid 2.
The S& L Crisis NEVER ENDED…WAS ONLY PERFECTED. This is definitely, IMHO, a continuation of the S&L Crisis. It was a crisis perfected with the advent of Technology and the Internet. Up sprang new ideas and devious minds to conspire against US and steal all we have left, and in some cases its our only shelter…OUR HOMES.

“Some commentators believe that a taxpayer-funded government bailout related to mortgages during the savings and loan crisis may have created a moral hazard and acted as encouragement to lenders to make similar higher risk loans during the 2007 subprime mortgage financial crisis.[23]”
Where are the arrests NOW? Hmmm, Does “TOO Big to Fail” Still mean “Too Big Too Jail?”
Apparently.
O and another more recent look back…

“How many financiers do you think ended up in jail after America’s Savings and Loans scandals? The answer can be found in a fascinating, old report from the US Department of Justice*.”
“According to some of its records, between 1990 and 1995 no less than 1,852 S&L officials were prosecuted, and 1,072 placed behind bars. Another 2,558 bankers were also jailed, often for offenses which were S&L-linked too.”
