Inside Job, Oscar-Winning Documentary, Now Online (Free)
In late February, Charles Ferguson’s film – Inside Job – won the Academy Award for Best Documentary. And now the film documenting the causes of the 2008 global financial meltdown has made its way online (thanks to the Internet Archive). A corrupt financial industry, its corrosive relationship with politicians, academics and regulators, and the trillions of damage done, it all gets documented in this film that runs a little shy of 2 hours.
Inside Job (now listed in our Free Movie collection) can be purchased on DVD at Amazon. We all love free, but let’s remember that good projects cost real money to develop, and they could use real financial support. So please consider buying a copy.
Hopefully watching or buying this film won’t be a pointless act, even though it can rightly feel that way. As Charles Ferguson reminded us during his Oscar acceptance speech, we are three years beyond the Wall Street crisis and taxpayers (you) got fleeced for billions. But still not one Wall Street exec is facing criminal charges. Welcome to your plutocracy…
If you have not seen this film yet, I highly suggest you do…

INSIDE JOB Official Trailer
SYNOPSIS
From Academy Award® nominated filmmaker, Charles Ferguson (“No End In Sight”), comes INSIDE JOB, the first film to expose the shocking truth behind the economic crisis of 2008. The global financial meltdown, at a cost of over $20 trillion, resulted in millions of people losing their homes and jobs. Through extensive research and interviews with major financial insiders, politicians and journalists, INSIDE JOB traces the rise of a rogue industry and unveils the corrosive relationships which have corrupted politics, regulation and academia. Narrated by Academy Award® winner Matt Damon, INSIDE JOB was made on location in the United States, Iceland, England, France, Singapore, and China.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
This film attempts to provide a comprehensive portrayal of an extremely important and timely subject: the worst financial crisis since the Depression, which continues to haunt us via Europe’s debt problems and global financial instability. It was a completely avoidable crisis; indeed for 40 years after the reforms following the Great Depression, the United States did not have a single financial crisis. However, the progressive deregulation of the financial sector since the 1980s gave rise to an increasingly criminal industry, whose “innovations” have produced a succession of financial crises. Each crisis has been worse than the last; and yet, due to the industry’s increasing wealth and power, each crisis has seen few people go to prison. In the case of this crisis, nobody has gone to prison, despite fraud that caused trillions of dollars in losses. I hope that the film, in less than two hours, will enable everyone to understand the fundamental nature and causes of this problem. It is also my hope that, whatever political opinions individual viewers may have, that after seeing this film we can all agree on the importance of restoring honesty and stability to our financial system, and of holding accountable those to destroyed it.

I CAN READ THIS STUFF ALLDAY ALL NIGHT AND EVERYDAY TILL HELL FREEVES OVER. AND ILL BE A FUCKIN ICECUBE ON A PEDISTAL IN HELL WHILE BANKERS AND GOV. OFFICIALS FLY BY IN THEIR ANTI HELL FROZE OVER AIRCRAFT DROPING BAGS OF SHIT ON ALL OF US……………OR WE CAN TAKE A FUCKIN STAND NOW.SOMEONE TAKES ANYTHING FROM ME ILLEGALLY ……… WHAT IM GONNA TAKE EM TO COURT……..FUCK NO………IM GONNA TAKE FROM HIM……….IF HE PUSHES ME TO FAR …………EMERGENCY ROOM.
No No No
There is only one really effective answer to this and here it is folks
Take ALL YOUR CASH OUT OF ALL THE BANKS stop paying your credit cards and mortgages and all your other loans.
IF ALL of America decided to become passive vigilantes then the banks would have to change OVERNIGHT.
BUT YOU WONT WILL YOU
SO YOU ARE TOTALLY going to be the lookers and moaners AS USUAL SO MANY SAY THEY SHOULD GET TOGETHER BUT you are so entrenched in your own lazy corruptness that you will still vote for the J P Morgan president even if hes from the KKK.
Totally pathetic
Congrats!!! to 4closurefraud.org for being such a great source of information. You guys deserve a great Oscar too. Congrats!!! to Charles Ferguson and all the people that took the time and the courage to put this documentary together. Thanks to all the cast involved in this film. In my opinion, looking through the 30 pages script above, it is obvious who is telling the truth, who is lying, and who is reserve and holds back to answer the questions. I was amazed to learn that it is not only Wall St, The Federal Government, The Banks, but every Greedy American or not American messed up the system. I had seen the film twice and every time I learn something new. I definitely recommend everyone to watch this documentary, get together the whole family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers to learn that no one is immune to this system, and they might be next.
To learn that many Professionals from Universities, from Government Officials from the years of Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush again, and now Obama (When will ever learn?) engaged in so much corruption by passing so many laws to protect the crooks. Wouldn’t a right person with the greatest IQ think that this is wrong and we will pay dearly in the future if we continue letting this happening? Why didn’t we learn our lesson from Savings & Loans back in the 80’s? If people who got caught in the S&L ordeal went to jail, Why is it that now no one goes to jail, even if Wall St. or Any one is running the government? Justice is Justice and the Law is the Law. If we have plenty of evidence and know who are the perpetrators and by now many of them had been found guilty of wrong doing, either by admittance or by due process, or even by getting caught by accident from their mistakes, there is not reason these slavish crooks shouldn’t go to jail.
My first candidate would be Mozillo from Country Wide Home Loans, Inc. The list will grow over a hundred after we make an example of Mozillo. Why is it that Bernie Madoff goes to jail after he run the show at Wall St. for more than a decade under the nose of Regulators and the SEC, but no the other big Sharks from Wall St.?
Maybe Mr. Ferguson can do another Inside Job documentary, but this time Inside Job at Wall St and how Greedy Billionaires turns against other Greedy Billionaires so the truth comes out.
I am so glad that the film is out in the internet and out in the stores, so millions of people watch and learn the truth and who is behind of all this ordeal. I will do my best to share information and let people know about this film. We should promote this film in Town Hall Meetings and let every American know what is going on. If the whole country knew the truth, on the next election will be a clean out house and all the representatives that engage in taking bribes from Lobbyists should be impeached and put in jail for a long time. Bribes are acts of wrong doing and illegal. This is not difference than a drug dealer and dirty laundry money cartel.
If we continue Wall St. and all the crooks running the country, we all be dead in the near future and only the elite will have it all and the whole country will go to hell. I can not imagine the people of the United States will let this ever happen. There will be a civil war and thousands of people will die, of course, the elite will be first, there is no place to hide, there will be a total destruction of homes, banks, corporations, politicians, and many that had already been exposed. God Bless You all and if there is still time, you better redeem yourselves!
God Bless America and God Bless every United States Citizen who is fighting for their rights.
Wall Street government? Did we expect anything else? And who is behing this? Both Republicans and Democrats…
Will there be any justice in this foreclosure mess? I do not believe so. This proves the American system is not about liberty and rule of law, it is all about money, big banks, and rich men. And I now see all this needs to be destroyed. We need to mark all these men. All the players. Preserve a record of all their assets. And in due time go after them. Take it all away. Send them to the foodstamp line. Make their wives get on Medicaid. Make their children live on food stamps or under a bridge. These men need to suffer. They need to go to jail. The need to rot and die in there. They have ruined a generation of families. The destruction over the next 100 years will be great on the American family. These men need to be remembered by someone someplace and made to pay. Please God, help us against those who take a man’s wages and then make him a slave to their greedy schemes.
Inside Job, absolutely on target. More accurate and non-partisan than you would expect. Takes both parties and the financial world on. The only answer to this type of corruption is for the people to rise up and demand accountability, transparency and YES, legal action if that is what it takes to gain control of the out of control financial sector that has so corrupted government.
Yes, you can. Many people do not want to try to understand what happened or are complacent. This is where your houses and jobs are going and it is far from over.
What you don’t know will hurt YOU!
