Prominent West Palm Beach attorney Gerald Richman successfully defended the law firm Shapiro & Fishman in quashing an August attorney general’s subpoena issued as part of the foreclosure investigations. Richman supports the attorney general’s decision to get rid of Edwards and Clarkson.
“The only way to describe it was total arrogance on their part,” Richman said about his interactions with the attorneys. “We went down to meet with them and we were met with disdain.”
Of course you were met with disdain… What did you expect?

State defends ousters of foreclosure investigators
Florida’s latest foreclosure fracas involving the ousting of two state investigators drew clear sides Friday after an attorney general’s statement that performance, not politics, caused the forced resignations.
Former assistant attorneys general Theresa Edwards and June Clarkson, who were the office’s lead foreclosure fraud investigators, were told May 20 to resign immediately or be fired.
After the move drew national attention and accusations that it was done for political reasons, Deputy Attorney General Carlos Muniz released a statement Thursday criticizing the lawyers’ performance as “unacceptable.”
The statement was in contrast to written evaluations conducted before and after Attorney General Pam Bondi took office that gave the women positive reviews.
But attorneys who went up against Edwards and Clarkson –– who acknowledged an unbiased opinion would be hard to come by –– said Friday they had complaints about their professionalism and called them overly aggressive.

Flag this messageFrom Attorney General Pam BondiFriday, July 22, 2011 6:01 PMFrom: “AG” Add sender to ContactsTo: jandersonpaper@yahoo.comFlorida Attorney General Pam Bondi received your email regarding your
concerns with the foreclosure crisis. Attorney General Bondi asked that I
respond.
Our office received your initial email correspondence on August 8, 2008,
and our records indicate that we responded to this correspondence on
August 15, 2008. As it appears that you did not receive the previous
response to your email, I have provided a copy of your original email and
our response below.
In addition, the joint investigation and enforcement effort by the
Attorneys General and federal regulators was instituted to address the
failure of loan servicers to comply with the laws governing foreclosure.
General Bondi remains committed to enforcing our laws against the
servicing industry with regard to alleged misconduct in the foreclosure
industry. Our office’s efforts in the fight against mortgage fraud is
evident. We sued Countrywide for alleged wrongdoing in mortgage loan
origination and obtained a landmark settlement. We have also pursued
other cases in the mortgage origination industry, and these actions have
provided relief to countless homeowners in Florida.
Further, there have been many investigations and prosecutions of mortgage
origination fraud by this office through the Mortgage Fraud Task Force and
the Office of Statewide Prosecution, as well as the Department of Justice
and United States Attorneys’ offices and attorney general multistate
enforcement. One of the main areas of focus for the Attorney General is
making improvements to the foreclosure process and it will take the effort
of bankers and mortgage servicers, along with government leaders and the
courts, to accomplish this task.
Rest assured, the Attorney General is committed to aggressively pursuing
every legal avenue available to protect the rights of Floridians and the
sovereignty of Florida. Thank you again for expressing your thoughts and
concerns to our office.
Sincerely,
Travis Dudley

RE: The Gang of 5 Banksters.
Subject: 50 State AGs settlement with the Banksters
On your negotiations with the banks.
On the street that I grew up on in Knoxville, there was a corner grocery
store
owned by a man named Raymond Holbert and my family were friends with him
and
even vacationed one year, with his family in Florida.
One day Raymond, walked into the local bar and shot a man dead in front of
a
dozen people, without saying a word.
He was charged with first degree murder.
He hired the best attorney in Knoxville a man named Ray Jenkins, who had
argued
cases before the Supreme court.
After a period of time the attorney told the widow, that Raymond felt bad
about
what had happened, and that if he did not have to go to prison, that he
had
$25,000 that he would give her. But if he was convicted, that the money
would
have to be used to support his family.
When at the trial, she testified that her husband and Raymond had a blood
feud,
and that it was just a matter of time before one killed the other.
The jury returned a verdict of not guilty.
This happened in the late 50s and the 25K would have bought five nice
homes.
Cars were under &2.000. Raymond did pay up, and the last time I saw him,
he was
living in a mobile home on a bare acre of farm land he had managed to
keep.
The only reason I ever heard of for the event, was the man had supposedly
said
something about Raymond, but nobody knew what it was.
The reason I bring this up is, people have been buying their way out of
trouble
since lawyers were invented.
The difference is Raymond paid with everything he had and he never
recovered.
Are the people “corporations” that the DOJ and the 50 states attorneys are
protecting, doing the painful restitution that Raymond did?
WHY HAS NO ONE BEEN CHARGED WITH FRAUD?
I sent the following e-mail to you a while back and you, or your staff has
not
responded.
Dear Pam Bondi,
I am upset by your lighthanded approach to the fraud that banks and
foreclosure
law firms have so far gotten away with in this state.
As the chief law enforcement officer in Florida, and a member of the
Florida
Bar, your duty is clear. To do anything less than full prosecution on
those who
would, fabricate, and use fraudulent documents in court proceedings is a
violation of your oath as a officer of the court, and Attorney General of
the
state of Florida.
We are in troubled times, and the public needs to know that the law
applies to
all, great and small. If rule of law, is perceived as rule of the rich,
then
civil unrest and revolution will be the result.
Do you think Judge Judy would rule in favor of a plaintiff or defendant
who
produced a fraudulent document to win their case? NO! because it would
violate
the”CLEAN HANDS DOCTRINE” that no relief shall be granted to a party who
engages in unlawful activity.
I ask that you do your duty.
