Robo-signing has far-reaching legal implications
The false verification or robo-signing of documents occurs in a variety of circumstances. Whether it involves the forging of a signature or failure to comply with procedures, lawyers must have the capacity to recognize and handle robo-signing accordingly.
Featured speaker Dianna Anelli will present information and strategies concerning this issue at the OSBA CLE seminar Fall Ethics, Professionalism and Substance Abuse on Oct. 24 both live and via webcast in Columbus. It’s simple. Of course it’s horribly illegal. Along with a variety of other things bankers do. But they are special, their money has bought (bribed) them special privileges. They are never held accountable for anything. When was the last time you saw someone from the banking cartel go to prison? It doesn’t matter what court you go to, low or high, no one would ever punish a banker. But if you get caught filling out one line of one of the gazillion government forms that you need to fill out during your lifetime, you’re going to prison!
Once a robo-signer should be a criminal. They are lying under oath. They are making false legal documents to deceive a court. They are committing perjury. They should be held to the same standard as a witness in any trial. Robo-signing is allowed because there is no agency to whom to make a complaint of this fraud. When the legislature makes it illegal for robo-signing and attesting to material facts and they are perjured witnesses, then the State’s Attorney can come in and enforce the law and put these people in jail for violation of the Rico Act. Until then, all the crying about robo-signing and there is no enforcement mechanism, is all just that crying. No sympathy from the legislature in Florida or they would have long ago made it illegal for these robo-signers.
once an addict always an addict, once a robo-signer always a robo-signer.
