Without law there can be no freedom.
It’s pretty sickening to see counsel for LPS asking the favor of FL AG Bureau Chief Victoria Butler’s help in getting the Michigan AG off LPS’s tail. Specifically, she asks Ms. Butler to “encourage” the Michigan AG to conduct a civil, rather than criminal, LPS investigation. Gotta love it when LPS counsel (Joan Meyer) whines to Ms. Butler that the MI press release on its criminal investigation of LPS hurt its stock price.
I can’t wait to see the e-mail where Ms. Butler informed LPS’ counsel that it would be entirely inappropriate for her to interject herself into MI AG official activities and that, if LPS doesn’t want its stock price impacted by announcements of criminal investigations, then it oughtta probably stop doing, you know, criminal shit.
Lawson Records 3 references a consent order being negotiated with the Federal Reserve in April 2010. I must have missed that. Does anyone know what that was about – what behavior it was in response to and what changes LPS agreed to make?
Looks like Bette Seidel, an employee of Florida taxpayers in the AG’s office was still doing administrative work for Joe Jacquot, the former FL Deputy AG, after he left for greener (literally) pastures at LPS. What a jackhole he sounds like
