Take that, Steven Baum!
The 50-year-old lawyer, who owns New York’s largest home-foreclosure mill, made a rare appearance in a courtroom yesterday — and was promptly ripped by a Bankruptcy Court judge frustrated by his firm’s sloppy work.
Baum, whose eponymous firm has filed more than 25,000 foreclosure actions across the state over the past three years — many of which have been attacked for containing bogus documents — was lectured by Judge Cecilia Morris to correct his way of practicing law.
“How many times do I have to tell you, you didn’t do it right,” Morris said during the afternoon hearing. “Do you not understand ‘do it right’?” she asked Baum.
Morris had ordered Baum to appear in her courtroom personally after a steady stream of his firm’s lawyers mucked up several of the 180 foreclosure cases he has before the New York federal courts.
The judge accused Baum of “slowing down the court” by failing to properly transfer his cases to other lawyers as he prepared to shutter his Buffalo-area firm.

As someone who has had to tangle with this law firm personally, I would like to say I am happy that your firm has been shut down. May the powers that be take your license and the licenses of all the lawyers who even breathed on our case. You have been doing bad things for a while. You ran the system amuck. Please take his license and foreclose on all his homes. Let him apply for a modification and have the correct legal papers signed so they can repossess his homes and have his credit messed up!
Baum did not look very happy leaving the courthouse. POOOOOOR Baby!!!!!!! Can you imagine being held accountable for your firm’s sloppy work and he had to appear in court. The injustice of it all. He should have been taken out in handcuffs.

The judge should bar and forever ban him from doing business in any state for ever! and throw him in jail.

Well, Big Deal! So, he sweats a little and has to attend courtroom proceedings….well now, isn’t that just a kick in the ass for an attorney? having to sit in a courtroom and defend your actions. Where’s the raw of this judge against this whore monger? where’s the fines? where’s the jail time? where’s the disbarrment for practicing fraud? Someone give the man a tissue to wipe the sweat from his brow before he heads to his mansion……
