Friends,
I am letting you know I’ve filed for re-election as Guilford County Register of Deeds.
We’ve made many positive changes over the last four years–enhancing technology, cross training employees, and saving Guilford County Government hundreds of thousands of dollars. That dedication has not gone unnoticed.
The Guilford County Register of Deed’s commitment to excellence was celebrated with a 2009-10 North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) Local Government Productivity Award.
I could not be prouder of my staff and our accomplishments at the Register of Deeds. We’ve tried not only to meet the expectations of our customers, but to exceed them.
We’ve accomplished a great deal–but more needs to be done.
For example, I’ll be one of twenty five representatives on a historic Land Records Summit panel hosted by the Property Records Industry Association in Washington DC at the end of the month. This will be a “put everything on the table” meeting about where we are and where we need to go as we have moved through the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.
I’m running a campaign of values. I believe the role of government with business should be one of partnership. Our daily operations are both business and customer-centered to help meet your needs. I’m also taking a hard line on issues like robosigning and mortgage fraud in my land registry because no one is above the law.
And at the heart of all our values is simply the golden rule, that we treat each other the way we’d want to be treated, with respect and dignity.

Sincerely,

We are living in times when no one cares about anyone, which makes it more meritorious attitude Thigpen Jeff has taken to redress the conduct of the banks. Very few officials have taken the bull by the horns and have ventured beyond what is prudent.
Let’s change of attitude!Wake up! Open your eyes and help Jeff Thigpen, it’s our turn and god bless him for being one of the best citizens of America, which has been conquered by greed and lack of Representatives.
Without these transfer fees all of our counties are in dire shape , and as a result of this we have seen an increase in other taxes to make up for the shortfall . What can be done at a grass roots level ? Should we contact our local treasurers office and demand investigations ? Thank you Mr. Thigpen for making an attempt to combat this issue at a local level – God knows we can not count on any action at the federal level .
