TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—In recognition of 2012 National Consumer Protection Week, Attorney General Pam Bondi encourages consumers to be vigilant. The Attorney General’s Office provides tips for consumers on how to make informed decisions, avoid scams, protect personal information, and file complaints on possible wrongdoing. Consumers can access consumer protection information on the Attorney General’s website at http://myfloridalegal.com. Consumers can also call 1-866-9-NO-SCAM to report fraudulent or deceptive activity.

“Consumers should always research businesses and educate themselves prior to making any transaction,” stated Attorney General Bondi. “If anyone suspects fraudulent or deceptive practices, I encourage them to contact my office.”
