These people are nothing less than bank owned cronies. I thought it was bad here in Florida but this takes the cake!
Not only are they slipping SB 1890 in 670, 670 states if you have a lease and it is not recorded in the public records it does not exist.
Hardly ever is a lease recorded in public records. These tenants had nothing to do with the foreclosure but the legislature wants to throw them out in the street too.
This is bullshit. They removed the abandoned property section, so this was NEVER about abandoned properties! They also removed the required documents to be filed by the plaintiff to establish they have the right to foreclose. And I think the part that reduced the time on deficiency judgments is gone as well.
Copy of the bill below…
Get on the phones!
Tell them they are violating everything that they were elected for and to stop this madness!
TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY OF THE FLORIDA 2012 LEGISLATIVE SESSION.
VOTE NO ON SB 670 AND ON amendments which are a sneaky, slippery legislative sleight of hand to get SB 1890 passed.

Hey, I have a great idea….. Lets give these leases to MERS…How does that sound???? What’s the difference???
Yep, this their evil endgame Hitler Plan for mankind..
“I’m a bill, on capitol hill…” I forgot the rest I learned about bills becoming laws in school, but it’s all out the window anyway.
IF the tenants are not aware of the ‘sunshine’ federal law it will not keep them from being
evicted from a foreclosed property.
This should not matter at all as Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act (PTFA) signed into law by President Obama as Federal Law on May 20, 2009 and that is a sunshine act which has been extended to end December 31. 2014 is the law of the land under the supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution and so over-rides any state law which provides less relief to tenants which under the act have a minimum of 90 days after sale and notice as required by law before an eviction can take place and if there is a lease then that lease provides that the tenant can stay in the property till the end of the lease, whether recorded or not, unless the buyer is going to occupy the property.
