The people have spoken and majority rules. 68% of Readers Voted in Support of Comment Policy.
We will be implementing a comment policy over the next few days.
In the mean time, rule #1 is in effect. No more than two comments per post unless replying directly to another commenter.
There has been some features already added to the comment section to get the process started.
For example:
- Comments are now limited to 2000 characters per entry
- A report comment button has been added. If there are four separate complaints on a certain comment, the comment will automatically hide
- Added an up/down voting feature for each comment so readers can get feedback on if their comment is relevant/liked or not

Never saw the poll…but am aware that there needs to be some respect in some areas but I don’t want to be one that will add to the already first amendment violations…I don’t need to read everything and we are a diverse people and really don’t like been censured. However, I have read unpleasant posts but realize the poster was commenting out of his/her passion and way of expressing his/her views so I do not take any offense and just move on. My thoughts on the poll….and the purpose…I also believe it gives us opportunity to help our fellow foreclosure victims in some guidance…eg. I Vent did not get upset when I mentioned to her that using capital letters is considered shouting according to email ethics and she did correct that so when she does ‘shout’ I recognize and respect her passion on the subject…

she needs to get her own blog and stop clogging up michael’s site. she is piggy-backing on his readership.
and, she has driven many people away w/ her rants. other posters have said anti-semtic things
and use profanity.
it is obvious by the vote that the majority by a huge margin want to be able to read
comments on this site that could help them with their cases. they want to hear others’ experiences w/ f/c and not endless rants about conspiracies.
people need specific info to fight f/c or encoragement that they are not alone in having been defrauded.
i am pained that michael even had to waste any of his time to moderate people who cannot conduct themselves with maturity and civility.
it has nothing to do with “passion.”
it has to do with narcissism. wanting to hear yourself say the same thing over and over in screaming caps.
i also find it hard to believe that people are defending richard neva.
it. seems the ones who are defending him and patrick ferrell didn’t even see their disgusting posts
(vulgar sexual terms and anti-semitism ).
Ivent attacked many people who told her to stop screaming in caps.
she can’t control herself and she brings this site down. her advice is terrible,
defending our homes is far too important to be wrapped up with this woman’s personality disorders.
i’ll ignore her and anything to do with her.

Well said, Fury. We all need to focus on and direct our energies towards helping one another. This site is a very valuable resource when it comes to fighting fraudclosure.
You can be sure our “opponents” are monitoring this site. Let’s show them we are educated and up for the challenge.

Did not vote in the comment poll, too busy with foreclosure appraisal work.
Lenders are liquidating houses at up to 50% of value auctioning to investors purchasers cash. The average sales price measured last was 20% reduction although sales are up. Of course, the feeders, flippers and foreign investors are coming out of the woodwork. Hard to finance a REO house now, almost impossible if it is a HUD because one must have 203K or similar repair escrow.
I fear we are losing the battle folks.
The rhetoric on this site is too political. Not strictly to the subject of helping people keep their homes or fight fraud. These types of radical comments turn a lot of people off. It is a valid point that posters have comments on comments. It would be nice to have an edit feature too but we are privileged to have a venue in which to express our opinion and our voice to be heard.
I confess I am discouraged. I am watching OCCUPY dismanted in Nashvilled, moved out by Republican administration. I am seeing people so stirred to fear that their fears are forcing them into postures that will be their own downfall so where does it leave us? If you comment on NYT or Washington Post, others, you will be limited and monitored after having registered.
I thank the website for allowing our voice to be heard even if it is being drowned out!
I don’t think our voices are being drowned out at all. Asking people to keep their posts relevant and respectful is a step in the right direction. Having 2000 characters to share your viewpoint is more than ample.
I know of no reputable website that would allow a poster to comment 15-20 times per story. I know of no website that would put up with profanity-laced comments that have nothing to do with the published stories day after day after day.
In my humble opinion, we lost some followers and credibility as a result of the comments section being highjacked. The new policy will impact very few and save many.
Well, Matt about summed it up……right from the President on down the line, so with nobody to turn to for help I guess the Banks stay their coarse. They will keep lying, cheating, stealing, the big monster will continue to strip every penny it can from its people and they get bailed out once again by the investors who are paying their monetary settlement fee’s for them. Something is going to give, how long will it be before somebody or some group decides to stand up to this regime in a violent way? This gov should be ashamed of themselves sitting back and letting the 1% call all the shots…..RON PAUL !!!!
