Worcester man battles bank after vintage muscle car hauled off
Owner claims bank stonewalls on info
WORCESTER — As David vs. Goliath struggles go, they don’t get much more lopsided than a lone muscle-car enthusiast going up against a mega-bank with more than $2 trillion in assets.
But that’s exactly what Aaron Dahrooge of Worcester has been doing for three months now in an effort to get back his beloved 1973 Dodge Challenger.
The distinctive muscle car, which is painted “plum crazy” purple and has a burly V-8 engine with a chrome air scoop popping up through the hood, was taken from the garage of his deceased mother’s home in Burncoat in late March.
Bank of America has vital information, but won’t tell him, Mr. Dahrooge claims.
His mother, April Dahrooge, died last year. Her mortgage lender, Bank of America Corp., had an ongoing foreclosure proceeding against the house at the time of her death. The foreclosure proceeding has not been completed, according to city property tax and state land records.

Wow-now it is Grand Theft Auto and banks are still getting away with it. Not enough to steal homes-now they are stealing cars. Where does this stop!!!???? Where is law enforcement? If Bank of America ordered it, they are responsible for it!! Any citizen that did this would be locked away with a felony count of theft. Come on people!! the Branch Manager at B of A should be arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit Grand Larceny!!! They are conspiring with their hirlings to steal property and then conceal it. They probably have a whole separate operation for fencing stolen property. Crazy! I think I should change my name and add National Association at the end so I can get a license to steal real estate, cars and personal assets. What a deal.
Scumbags, Slime…dirty rotten thieves….all of them! Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase…I hope he gets his car back but odds are against him. All of these breakins have resulted in not one person gets their possessions back. But a car? Really? You mean to tell me that not one neighbor bothered to talk to this guy in the truck…bothered to take a picture or video…especially the one in the yard with his son who did absolutely NOTHING. Were there no fingerprints on the garage door where he had to open it in order to steal the car?
