County joins in suit against mortgate registration firm
Trigg County will join at least 14 other counties in a class-action lawsuit against Delaware-based Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS) Corporation.
At their meeting last Monday evening, the Trigg County Fiscal Court voted unanimously to join the lawsuit, which Trigg County Attorney Randy Braboy says involves all 120 counties in Kentucky, after a motion by Magistrate Larry Lawrence and a second by Magistrate Jon Goodwin.
After a question by Magistrate Donie Tyler, Braboy said he didn’t know how much money the county could get out of the lawsuit, but there is no cost to the county if they do join the class-action suit, and he added that while they aren’t required to join, if they didn’t and wanted to file suit individually later, the costs would probably outweigh any potential gains.

I’ve spoken with the in state attorneys handling this. They seem to be as clueless and full of hubris as the attorneys that handled the first KY federal suit against MERS. The first suit was dismissed. This one likely will be as well. Not because MERS isn’t slimy, or dirty, or guilty. But because the attorneys bringing suit just don’t seem to be very smart.
Thier not stupid but they were never educated for what to do in this situation because it was never supposed to happen.Same with judges. This is what could be termed and was for awhile as common sense law. They were educated by banks and so forth to ignore the law so these entities could prevail at any cost.Out the door went proffesionalism, ethics, our constitution and much more. This why they are like deer in the headlights no one prepared them for it.In thier world the right way never exsisted so they know nothing about it.
