Nation’s Lower Class At Least Grateful It Not Part Of Nation’s Middle Class
Again, from the ONION…
(SATIRE)
CHAPEL HILL, NC—A survey released Wednesday by researchers at the University of North Carolina found that despite the many challenges they face, the nation’s lowest-income individuals are nonetheless thankful they don’t have to endure the unique hardships of the nation’s long-suffering middle class.
According to the report, the 46 million Americans who fall below the federal poverty line, though struggling mightily, are at least glad they don’t have to live up to some rapidly vanishing American dream of advancing in their career, making more money, and improving their lifestyle, the way their middle-income counterparts do.
“The unrealistic expectations and false hope they experience must be unbearable,” Camden, NJ hotel clerk Allison Jacobsen told researchers, noting that while her $22,000 annual salary barely covers her rent and groceries each month, at least she doesn’t operate under the flawed assumption that her situation will ever improve. “A life spent constantly stressing out over a dead-end job or struggling to pay off a fixed 30-year mortgage on a continuously depreciating three-bedroom townhouse? It’s horrific.”
“Can you believe people actually have to live like that?” Jacobsen added. “I feel just awful for them.”
Rest here…

Rather live in poverty for the rest of my life than return to the middle class and get set up for failure once again..
But you see, Pamela, that is just exactly what this country was built upon. You should never, never abandon a dream of moving upward. It’s not just the money or the prestige, it’s the pride in oneself of obtaining goals that you set. Not to say that if you’re not middle class you’re not successful…not at all. But, my entire life would be counted as worthless if I did not at least instill some sort of achievement process for my children. It’s not the materialistic things that make you great and successful but how you use that knowledge to make life better for others. We were once a great nation of middle class who worked hard, spent time with their children and familiesand invoked in children the secrets of success. Yes, we fail because we are human but it’s those failures that promotes the drive to excel. Would you tell a child who wants desperately to play a musical instrument not to try? Would you tell an aspiring artist not to proceed because artistry does not pay well? If you allow those failures to keep you down then you are succumbing to exactly what this gov’t wants…peasants! What in the world did our forefathers (and that includes your parents, grandparents, etc. and mine) fight for? God helps the downtrodden, but only if they want it. Just please keep up the hope as right now that is the light that will lead us to victory.
Just can’t believe that we as a nation have stood around this long and done nothing to help ourselves. When attempts are made to justify the wrongs being done to all of us,then we are called deadbeats, nut cases and so forth.I see the light but it’s seems it’s taking way too long to do anybody any good.I do believe victory will be ours eventually and I believe the Lord has a bigger plan than what we know about.I have trust, faith and hope that this will work out for the best for all parties concerned.
