BREAKING: Judge Orders RELEASE of Detained Marine Veteran Brandon Raub
UPDATE: Brandon Raub released, on his way home
HOPEWELL, Va. (WTVR) – A Hopewell circuit court judge has ordered that a Marine veteran detained over anti-government Facebook posts be released from a psychiatric hospital.
CBS 6 News’ Catie Beck said the Judge Allan Sharrett dismissed the case Thursday against Brandon Raub. The judge said the original petition for Raub’s detention contained no facts. In other words, there was no information on why Raub was being held — and the judge deemed this violated his civil liberties.
As a result, the judge ruled the government had no grounds to hold Raub.
Beck said the judge is in the process of writing an order for Raub’s release. He is has been released from the hospital in Salem, Virginia Thursday afternoon and is headed home to Chesterfield.

Thankfully we still have some good judges left in our country. Especially considring its a state judge. I glad he is free, now he needs to take them to court and get paid millions of dollars for violation of his civil rights.
I think the reporter said it all. Freedom of speach…The First Amendment. The Judge knew he had to do the right thing by this young man as all eye are watching.
Great News! We need to watch out for more of this. They are testing the American people in a big way. For example, the last time I was in fraudclosure court the Judge asked me what does the bank need the legal assignment for? I told him that is the law. He rolled his eyes and gave me 28 days to re enter my defenses.
Thank Goodness !!
Would he have been release if no one had stepped up to cover his back??? Was this judge a Fair judge or pushed due to publicity to do the right thing? One has to ask these types of questions as we are faced daily with loosing our rights due to tyranny in you face and surveillance in your home tracking everything you do and no dang quality of living with so much being taken from backbone of the slaves. Good for the main stream news to finally get something right. Good for the people that have the back of our brothers and sisters, especially those that have served in the illegal wars for profit. This is pretty stupid crap to have to deal with. Still glad he is free for now and hopefully forever. He has more than paid any due “they think” he owes. Horrendous acts going on out here, we will be free of this soon.
