More than 52,000 foreclosure cases in Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast court systems today
Here’s the breakdown:
Palm Beach County: 39,000 (as of January 2013 according to Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller’s office)
Martin County: 2,973 (as of January 10th, 2013 according to Martin County Clerk and Comptroller’s office)
St. Lucie County: 7,941 (as of November 30, 2012 according to the 19th Circuit Court)
Indian River County: 2,266 (as of November 30, 2012 according to the 19th Circuit Court)
Okeechobee County: 607 (as of November 30, 2012 according to the 19th Circuit Court)
Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller Sharon Bock says her office is working as quickly as it can to clear cases.
“What we need to do is be able to clear all of the cases so that we can get the real estate community and frankly the whole Palm Beach County community up and running again,” Bock said.
It’s taking about 18-months on average for a case to clear, giving homeowners more time to negotiate the short sale.
A smart solution Bock said.
“Number one it gets the property on the market more quickly and possibly turned over. Number two the homeowner is potentially secure in knowing that this is now behind them,” Bock said.

why do these f-cking asshulls think by clearing foreclsoure cases will fix the economy. please please hit me in the head with a brick because i am so sick. speeding up foreclsoures only puts families faster out on the street. the slower the foreclosures go the more fraud is uncovered daily. every one i s suing everyone else. lets see now a nebraska pension is suing wells fargo for false information re mortage backed securuities. well yeah….no doc loans on people who were working and lieing to put peopel in homes they new they could not afford and sharon bock has the nerve to call in not so many words homeowners deadbeats.. please if you live in palm beach please call this beech up and give her a peice of our minds. i am so sick of them wanting to speed up foreclosures. Please tell sharon…..that because of fraud i was granted court ordered discovery what judges are doing this? but mine? so the judge slowed my case down to a halt on his own. so tell her to stop this crap and help homeowners. wells fargo has devistated my community. a parasite. many of us trusted wells fargo. please respond but didnt we all apply for these mortgages? if the bank would have done their income verification more then 1/2 of us would never have been apprroved. I for one would much rather have been told to find a less expensive home then be going through a foreclosure.

The gentleman referenced in the article (Grady Johonson) is in for a real surprise when he checks his credit report….All these people who think that doing a short sale somehow escapes the credit repositories…well, my friends, it’s just the same smoke and mirrors that has been going on since 2006. Doing a short sale is treated the same as a foreclosure in credit scoring. And it has the same bearings as if you had been in a foreclosure or a bankruptcy when it comes to purchasing a home. And this poor man thinks he salvaged his credit because some banker and some real estate agent told him so!!! Doing a short sale does not show up on your credit as ‘paid as agreed’…idiots, it shows up as ‘paid amount less than full amount due’. It’s rated the same as a foreclosure and the same as a bankruptcy. Foolish people thinking this will solve their problems. And they keep on drinkin’ the koolaid….
I see this every day….someone wants to buy a house and they had a short sale and whoa!!! their credit score is just barely above 500. How can this happen, I did a short sale…you’ve just had a tour of the liar’s club my friends!
