Boca squatter’s maid avoids media, gets ticket
Boca Raton police stopped a car leaving the infamous mansion squatter Andre De Paula Barbosa’s house at about 9:30 Monday night because its license plate was covered.
The driver of the car, Zilma Barbosa, said she covered up the license plate because she didn’t want news reporters to get her information and that she was just in the 7,000-square-foot home to clean it. It’s unclear what relationship, if any, Zilma has with Andre.
Information linked to license plates is not open to the public and generally can’t be accessed by reporters. But police incident reports about the citation are public information.
Zilma Barbosa, 54, who lives in Boca Raton, told police she was hired by the “resident” to clean the home and showed the officer a key to the posh 5-bedroom home. Her passenger, Ilma Paula, also of Boca Raton, and who strangely has the same birthdate as Zilma, confirmed the story. Barbosa was written a citation.
