The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport Convention Center has been targeted by a $32.83 million foreclosure lawsuit after allegedly falling behind on its loan in the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic.

RSS UBSBB2013-CC6-FL A1C LLC, representing a commercial mortgage-based securities (CMBS) trust, filed a foreclosure complaint Sept. 1 against AFP 103 Corp. It concerns the 334-room hotel and 138,198-square-foot conference center at 711 N.W. 72nd Ave.

The Miami Merchandise Mart, which is attached to the hotel, is not targeted by the lawsuit and is under different ownership.

The loan was originated for $40 million in 2013. According to the complaint, the borrower missed payments starting April 2020 and owes $32.83 million in principal, plus interest.
