Insight: Top Justice officials connected to mortgage banks

(Reuters) – U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Lanny Breuer, head of the Justice Department’s criminal division, were partners for years at a Washington law firm that represented a Who’s Who of big banks and other companies at the center of alleged foreclosure fraud, a Reuters inquiry shows.
The firm, Covington & Burling, is one of Washington’s biggest white shoe law firms. Law professors and other federal ethics experts said that federal conflict of interest rules required Holder and Breuer to recuse themselves from any Justice Department decisions relating to law firm clients they personally had done work for.
Both the Justice Department and Covington declined to say if either official had personally worked on matters for the big mortgage industry clients. Justice Department spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler said Holder and Breuer had complied fully with conflict of interest regulations, but she declined to say if they had recused themselves from any matters related to the former clients.
Reuters reported in December that under Holder and Breuer, the Justice Department hasn’t brought any criminal cases against big banks or other companies involved in mortgage servicing, even though copious evidence has surfaced of apparent criminal violations in foreclosure cases.
The evidence, including records from federal and state courts and local clerks’ offices around the country, shows widespread forgery, perjury, obstruction of justice, and illegal foreclosures on the homes of thousands of active-duty military personnel.

A friend of my son and I were talking about how easy it is nowadays to pick out the ones who are going to hell..There will no doubt be a special place in hell for these two…and most of the politicians, media, Banksters/ Wall Street tycoons and their owners…no doubt the same place all of the serial killers go to burn for eternity. They are all traitors to mankind.
Anyone see Gingrich defending himself against his ex-wifes accusations about how he wanted an open marriage…and Romney defending his Caymen Island accounts flush with cash…! The media trying to excuse Newts moral issues by saying look what Clinton did..and no one cared!…..Yeah right..look where that got us..! and their excuse for Romney is that he worked hard and has every right to stash his money out of this country…! And the media has the nerve to talk about homeowners getting principal write downs could present a moral hazard…! Wake up America! Revolt on everything…! It is like the Republicons want everyone to vote for Obama…except for Ron Paul who is the only American patriot I see…I will not vote for anyone but Ron Paul..even if I have to write him in…Fox Business was saying people dont like Mr. Paul because of his foreign policies of anti-war…you have got to be kidding me?…Ron Paul has more military men contributing to his campaign than any President in History..The media spins the lies and the people believe them..I dont believe for a minut e Romney or Gingrich are front runners…I don’t believe they won any straw man polls…the media is lying about Ron Paul….We should all write Ron Paul in if he does not get the nomination…! The other choices or heart disease or cancer and I would not pick either of those!

i do not understan america today. ron paul is the onlyone these other guys are dogs. i will also write in ron paul. i voted for obama because he seemed like he was going to help a merica and i felt if i wrote in hillary clinton my vote owuld be lost but i am only voting for ron paul this year. i will also vote every one of the standing one out.

Holder should be out of a job after Operation Fast and Furious was exposed….That was as good a reason as any to throw that traitor out..rumor has it Hillary was behind op fast and furious…and they did not want the real truth to come out…so they all zipped it…..Lanny Breuer got called out masterfully by 60 minutes about why there have been no criminal prosecutions of Wall Street…he squimed, wormed and got visibly agitated and then used the same old tired excuse that fraud is hard to prove..all the traitors are being revealed…!
