Obama’s mortgage fraud task force under fire
President Barack Obama used his January State of the Union address to show he’s on top of the housing crisis, announcing a new “special unit” to investigate mortgage fraud.
But the much-ballyhooed group is now under fire from housing advocates and liberal Democrats who say it lacks the muscle and White House backing to take on Wall Street defendants who drove the economy off a cliff.
It’s the latest example of the administration’s fitful efforts to take command of a complex crisis involving Wall Street shenanigans and suffering homeowners. High-profile announcements haven’t always been followed by actions immediately obvious to voters, especially in battleground states with soaring foreclosure rates such as Nevada, Colorado, Florida, Ohio and Wisconsin.
“People are very angry that the only person who’s been to prison is Martha Stewart,” said Democratic pollster Celinda Lake, referring to the insider trading charges against the home-improvement celebrity.

he Mortgage Task Force – what a “powerful” name, but do you know how many houses have been foreclosed upon by those who don’t have the standing, since this mighty task force had been established?! Countless…and how many lives lost – nobody knows….We (14 people from 6 states) sent a letter to NY AG on April 25th asking him about this task force, but as of today….the complete silence from his office!

We trusted you since the beginning, and today we are asking you to provide the names of your Foreclosure Task Force team leaders. We need to know who is in charge, what steps are being taken, and who we may contact with our specific concerns.”

Let’s face it….We need to think of a different way to put a man/woman into office as President of the United States. This is something that I have been thinking about for a long time..and I think it just might work. No more political crap. The best person for the position, but with a twist…The criteria should be a retired high ranking General of the Military…who better to serve us in many areas. He/she would be best to fight terrorists…perhaps ideas no one has even thought of, protect us from the countries who would like to do away with America and a person who can and has made decisions that will effect the lives of all Americans in a moments notice. This President would hire the best person for all the areas he feels he is not best qualified to handle….which basically is what is done now…but all political….not necessarily the BEST person for the position. If you have ever listened to a General being interviewed they will give you goose bumps listening to how they would handle an issue…as General Swartzkoff (sorry for the misspelling)….who I believe would have been perfect for President, General Powell would have been perfect as well. He did not like the politics…it went against his grain…as a great General should feel. I might be rough around the edges about this….but just think about it….Wouldn’t you feel very safe if a General was in the highest office a person can hold in the United States…fitting as he has been in the hightest office in the military. If we can have an actor from Hollywood become the Presidient of the United States and be remembered as being one of the best Presidents we have ever had…what does this tell us. He will certainly never be remembered for what political party he was in, but rather the kind person he was within…genuinely good person who did a great job. President Carter will never go down as the best President, but will for his great humaniity…he too was a great person within.
Money, money, money….buys the candidate, paves the campaign trail and then lands himself in office. You won’t see anything get done FOR the people since those in office (and the only ones who can financially afford to run) are the 1%rs. You really think they are going to do anything for the other 99%? Really??? Obamer is a joke; Romney is a joke. I’ve been on both sides of the parties: both dem and repub. Quite honestly I can’t see much of a difference when you compare to what we have in office (and that includes both Congress & Senate) is just a bunch of greedy SOB’s out to get as much as they can for as long as they can. Heck, we never get “new” because most of them keep jumpin from one office to the other back and forth from state to federal and then back again. We ain’t gonna win this war by voting. You all thought Eric Schneiderman was such a hero….yea right. He sold out to Wall Street just like the rest of them. Primed himself right up there for the next open spot!! What we need is a “start over”!!!
This won’t lead to his resignation unfortunately – but people are furious with him and his liar Tim Geithner. Call off the election until some justice is done.
You all are missing the point! You can’t just decide to only elect a general or call off an election. We have no power whatsoever to do that. Candidates running for ANY office need a lot of money…I mean look @ what happened to Santorum (ran out of money) and Paul (almost running out of money). These are extremely wealthy people. We are going to have to start at the lower levels where the spread of money for exposure is vastly smaller area (like Lisa running for Clerk of Court). Sure, the internet is a great source of exposure but not all of the people are on the internet and gosh how many sites would you have to be on to cover that arena anyway? The playing field for candidates is not a level playing field so usually the ones with enough $$$$ to run are already corrupted. Movements like “Occupy” is where we need to focus our energies………just sayin’!
Obama is just another puppet like Tricky Dick Nixon was. Same face different mask. And so it goes.
Where are the Ralph Nadars when you need them? Unfortunately, the powers that be have bought out everything and most people just don’t know Machiavellian tactics when they see them. The public is kept ignorant, not much of a task these days, where all are dumbed down by a little rhetoric. Try living in a Southern state like TN whose only concerns are having their guns everywhere, packing in church, parks, schools yards, etc. and white supremacy. You get the idea. The Democrats were our only hope but they haven’t held the line and have succumbed to the same buyouts as Romney, the Rove, Norquist, Cheney, etc. etc. who are the money and voice of spin. Okay, so you hate Obama, I get it! But do you really think Romney will do better about taking care of people? Didn’t Romney buy and close businesses for money putting people out of jobs. GOP mantra, outsourcing, Corporate Plutocracy is their stock and trade. Romney isn’t going to push the healthcare argument because he can’t stand the heat in a kitchen he created in his home state. GOP picks and chooses their fights. Last week a PAC billionaire wanted to attack Obama on his preacher friend. Trump wants to say he isn’t a citizen. But really it all boils down to racism. As it is now the tea party has the GOP by the short hairs and nothing will be accomplished until we get rid of the radical right-wingers. Unfortunately, the people who vote for these jokers always say, “Wall he___________(fill in the name) at least has my values.” Translated: He (she) aint’ no baby killer or gay lovin’ . . . . . or walking into the polls overheard, “Whose running on the Republican ticket?” so he can make their mark. . . . . oh well you get the idear. . . . . .don’tcha?
The Prez is a SHILL for the banksters and Wall Street. He is never ever EVER EVER going to choose the welfare of the people in the United States over the welfare of the Banks, Corporations and Wall Street.
