U.S. Working Poor Population Grows, As Families Struggle To Pay The Bills

(Reuters) – The number of U.S. families struggling with poverty despite parents being employed continued to grow in 2011 as more people returned to work but mostly at lower-paying service jobs, an analysis released on Tuesday shows.

More working parents have taken jobs as cashiers, maids, waiters and other low-wage jobs in fast growing sectors that offer fewer hours and benefits, according to The Working Poor Project, a privately funded effort aimed at improving economic security for low-income families.

The result is 200,000 more such working families – the so-called “working poor” – emerged in 2011 than in 2010, according to the report, based on analysis of the most recent U.S. Census Bureau data.

About 10.4 million such families – or 47.5 million Americans – now live near poverty, defined as earning less than 200 percent of the official poverty rate, which is $22,811 for a family of four.

It is sick control freak b.s. That is all it is. These eliteists hate freedom and therefore they hate our Constitutional Republic. If America is no longer sovereign and free, no land will be sovereign and free.

What’s your excuse? Somebody had you and you have my sympathy.

Maybe people will stop having children — particularly more than one. Most “families” are poor
due to the extra mouths to feed. It’s amazing that they have more children when they are already
living struggling economically with the children do have. I have no sympathy with multiple
child families. Before you have a kid, have several thousands saved up.

    • Dude really ? I mean seriously?Several thousand saved up per child?Ok no brain surgery involved here but if you had children you’d have a realistic concept of how much it really takes to raise a child and were not just talking money. The answer is you can never be that prepared and if you were you would be to old to do it.Do us all a favor and move to China your views would work better there than here, and don’t comment on something you evidently have no working knowledge of.It only serves to make you look like a bigger fool than you already appear.
