Well, it’s not actually a “tank,” of course, though it certainly looks like one. It’s a “12-ton armored personnel carrier.” It is supposedly for “rescue” operations, though why it needs to be armored to do that is not clear.

i walked past the OWS drum circle protest of mayor bloomberg’s townhome on east 79th this afternoon..

there was no one there, save the milling cops and barricades that had been pulled up.
obviously. Mayor 1% had the protesters arrested and removed.
