Arson? Man Dies in Fire of Home He Was About to Lose to Foreclosure
VELDA CITY • A man who refused to leave a home that was being foreclosed on died in a fire there early Thursday, authorities said.
The Velda City Police Department and the St. Louis County Bomb and Arson Unit are investigating.
Fire officials received a call about 12:20 a.m. of a fire in a one-level brick home in the 6900 block of Woodrow Avenue, according to Velda City Police Chief Daniel Paulino. He said an officer from his department arrived at the scene and was told by neighbors that someone may be inside.
The officer kicked the front door open but the flames and heat were too extreme for him to go inside, Paulino said. Firefighters later found the man inside the burning home.

Our homes are our most prize investment and places of refuge , security , and privacy ! Owning a home is the Cornerstone of the AMERICAN DREAM ! We guard it against those who would break in and violate the sanctity we would defend with our lives . It is a sad day in America when the thieves have become the financial institutions who have no regard for the liberties of the American people and what America stands for . Avaricious Adventurers , in order to satisfy their lust for money would destroy the foundation of all that makes us a great Nation and people !?!? Damn all of you , who knew the truth and had the power to do something to stop our self destruction , and did nothing to stop it !!!
