Chemical bomb tossed into Occupy Maine encampment
PORTLAND — Occupy Maine protesters say Sunday morning’s attack with a chemical explosive has left them with a mixture of anxiety and resolve.
“We are more motivated to keep doing what we’re doing,” said Stephanie Wilburn, of Portland, who was sitting near where the chemical mixture in a Gatorade bottle was tossed at 4 a.m. Sunday. “They have heard us and we’re making a difference.”
Wilburn said she was startled and briefly lost hearing in her left ear when the device exploded beneath a table about 10 feet away. Wilburn’s hearing returned and police said no injuries were reported.
Portland police Sgt. Glen McGary said the bomb was thrown into the camp’s kitchen, a tarped area where food is cooked and served. Protest organizers said the explosion lifted a large table about a foot off the ground.
“There was no fire . . . We had a good 20 feet of thick smoke rolling out from under the table,” Wilburn said. They could see the “G” on the 24-ounce bottle and its orange cap, as well as bits of silver metal, she said.

I get the impression from some comments made that we may have some NWO trolls coming to this website..CaitlinO. I VENT……I just came on…what has this turned into…some race crap now….We see no color of skin…we see humans that are struggling..have lost everything…what I see is human life all coming together to rid the evil that is out to destroy the world…..it is the government and the NWO that wants no one but the elite to live….google the NWO….they have their own constitution and rules of what is to be….they have plans already to elimate thru different methods…..What started all this anyways? Must be someone who holds deep anger for skin colors….or wants to start something among the people fighting for their rights in a peaceful way….looking for riots to start…..Whoever…leave the racist issue out of this…this is a government and NWO issue…a criminal financial scheme to rob this country of everything….a complete take over….NOT a skin color issue.
It may be an Aryan radical movement. The far right is leaning toward Fascism even now. It is especially evident in Southern states. The basis is racial hatred with an obsessive fear that the left is eventually coming to take their guns away. The Aryans are incited the NRA people to some extent. All you have to do is go to the NRA website to see much fear based rhetoric is directed toward the left and Democrats. It would fall over to those in OCCUPY as anti-war, peaceful movement. No matter that the Democrats have left the gun subject alone except to say, as long as the South has their guns they are happy, or something like that. If you don’t live here you really don’t get a good feel for the radical right’s gun fears or shift to fascism with all its elements of hatred for immigrants, blacks. Their basic fear is that WHITES will be outnumbered eventually and they have to stop the shift now. The tea party people were shouting that here when the Republicans maneuvered them into their party. Republicans instill fear in Aryans (underground) that Obama wants to take their guns. TN state legislature has this year enacted new lax gun laws that allow people to tote guns into parks, playgrounds and bars. So this fear goes to the heart of the political system in Tennessee. Gun shows and gun stocking is over the top in the South. Memphis, and Tennessee in general, is a hub for gun trafficking because of lax gun control. You can buy guns here without checks at shows. Some in the drug cartel in Mexico are getting guns out of Tennessee.
We are shaping up for war between the far right and the OCCUPY movements. Even though peaceful, OCCUPY will be challenged out of fear that OCCUPY is gaining strength and support.. Not sure where it all ends but the Arynan movement is strong, encouraged by Republicans stirring the pot on illegal immigration. The Aryan movement manipulated under another label may be the next big support group for Republicans. In our state we have community havens where it is predominately white based now. Arkansas has the same or even more. Those two states I am familiar with their outlook on ethnicities. It may be similar in other states. Come on down and join the rabid, gun toting white Southerners that yell Nazi to everyone without realizing they are closer to a Nazi mindset than they realize. Ignorance ignited by fear is the base of this effort. White supremacy is alive in well in the South.

Whites WILL be outnumbered eventually – in about 25 years according to a study I saw not long ago. Whites were outnumbered in Hawaii where I lived for many years and it was the most racially calm, tolerant place I’ve ever known.
CaitlinO You are right! When visiting Oahu, Hawaii I was amazed so many ethnicities were in such harmony. It was beautiful.This was years ago but it was a most peaceful place out of another world. Just to expensive to stay:) Also Nassau was similar, no hatred based on ethnicity, despite poverty in Islanders. Of course both visits were years ago. May have changed. Memphis is predominantly black with a rapidly expanding Hispanic population. It is racially and ethnically charged, neither calm nor peaceful.
Just watched a local news report on Occupy Chicago…The reporter said that the protesters are 90% white….and the reason the protesters say they are protesting are all different. One man quit his well paying computer software job to protest 24/7. This has nothing AT ALL to do with race or anything else other than corruption and treason by our politicians, greed, fraud, and robbery via massive deception by the top 1%…They are hoarding everything for themselves and robbing the 99% to pay for the massive frauds that they committed off of our signatures. THE FRAUDULENTLY CREATED DEBTS ARE WALL STREETS DEBTS..NOT OURS.
